  28. How many criminals with life imprisonment have truly been a threat to your
  29. life?  Maybe you have a worry that the nasty serial killer will break out
  30. and slay you, but what are the chances?  The death penalty conveniently
  31. erases any worries you may have had, no matter how silly those worries were.
  32. And what sort of punishment is death unless it's slow and painful?
  33. Seems to me the only people punished by a dead convict are his/her
  34. family and friends.  Is there a talk.capital-punishment?
