- The single fertilized egg that WAS me died a long time ago. Many other cells
- had, by that time, grown to supplement the same organism, of course, and that
- same process of cell division, maturation, and extinction, which constitutes
- this biological organism, continues to this day.

- If anything, I find it demeaning to suggest that the genetic code in my cells,
- which I kill without a second thought by the thousands each day, is my ultimate
- identity, my humanity. As irrelevant as I think the endless debates over
- "personhood" are to the abortion issue, I will say in passing that there
- simply HAS to be a better measure than that.
