- This is a lie. The facts are that there are only 3 or 4 doctors in the US
- who perform third-trimester abortions. There are about 100 of these
- performed *per year*, and those only for severe health reasons. You've
- been repeatedly challenged to back up your claims by producing evidence of
- any third-trimester abortions performed for "trivial" reasons. That you've
- been unable to do so shows that your scare tactics have no basis in
- reality. Not only does Roe *allow* for third-trimester restrictions
- (leaving it up to the states to decide, of which about 30 have
- third-trimester restrictions]; the current situation is a de facto *ban* on
- third-trimester abortions for anything other than serious medical
- considerations.
-
- From Roe v. Wade:
- "On the basis of elements such as these, appellants and some *amici*
- argue that a woman's right is absolute and that she is entitled to
- terminate her pregnancy at whatever time, in whatever way, and for
- whatever reasons she alone chooses. With this we do not agree."
