- You don't need to look very back in history, you just to need to look in the
- right country. In ~95% Catholic Ireland, the Catholic bishops "allowed" the
- Irish people to vote whichever way they wanted in the upcoming abortion
- referendum. This news came hot on the heels of prayers that "our
- constitution be once again enabled to express the people's abhorrence of
- abortion". Yep. Theocracies can happen in democracies, and they're not much
- fun.
