  32. Definitely not -- you're old enough to have heard of it quite a bit before I
  33. did, and the way you put that seems to indicate you didn't hear of them
  34. until after their football program had already gone to pot -- which means
  35. some time after 1964.  I was made aware of their existence in 1965, at the
  36. age of ten, when I got to see the campus as my parents drove by it on our
  37. house-hunting visit to Houston two months before we moved here...

  39. (You may hear a bit more about the Killer Owls this week -- they figure to
  40. firebomb Navy, which would give them a winning football team for the first
  41. time since 1963 -- and that's long enough for me. :-)

  44. next week, and then Houston will have a new parking lot...
