  30. Your claim about how it was determined that Stephen Chaney (he
  31. spells it with a "ph") was posting the Dennis Hall articles is
  32. false.  In fact, the similarities in misspellings and posting
  33. style were noted, then the system administrator for the Dennis
  34. Hall account was contacted and asked if Stephen Chaney was the
  35. owner of the account.  The system administrator confirmed that he
  36. was.  Nothing definite was said and, my memory is a little fuzzy
  37. here, I don't think anyone claimed they were the same person until
  38. after it was confirmed by the system administrator.  The similarities
  39. were far more numerous than the way one word was spelled, but
  40. nobody really stated that the Dennis Hall poster was Chaney
  41. until after proof, real honest to goodness proof, was obtained.

  43. By the way, Scott Roby got the proof first from the system
  44. administrator, but I confirmed this independently because I
  45. wasn't sure I should be following Scott's lead until I knew
  46. it was true on my own.  I was nervous that I had supported
  47. Scott's statements regarding the system administrator based
  48. solely on Scott's word and the posting similarities.  So I
  49. contacted the system administrator myself, explained what was
  50. going on, and asked him if he could confirm or deny what I had
  51. been told.  He confirmed it.

  53. The standard of proof set by those who confirmed that Chaney was
  54. in fact posting as Hall is sufficiently high to demand a
  55. retraction of your slur on supporters of choice, who were
  56. careful and thoughtful in determining the facts.  I might
  57. also note that while you accuse Mezias of dishonesty because
  58. he actually was the author of one sentence in the posting at
  59. issue, Chaney was practicing a deliberate deception in his
  60. Hall posts, claiming to be a supporter of choice and exhibiting
  61. all the worst characteristics that are so native to Chaney in
  62. an attempt to discredit the pro-choice position.  One might
  63. slur all pro-life supporters based on this deliberate
  64. deception, as you have tried to slur all pro-choice supporters
  65. with your remarks, but then I have a little more character
  66. than that, and my standards are higher.
