  11. For those of you that may be interested, the beta test of my Macintosh
  12. GEDCOM to Tiny Tafel program is progressing well.  There are currently
  13. 20 people on the distribution list.  I really don't need any more.  If
  14. you sent me mail but have not received at least one e-mail message
  15. from me it probably means the "From:" address in your mail was not
  16. replyable.

  18. I do have one problem that maybe someone on the net can help me with.
  19. To save time I copied a soundex subroutine out of some public domain
  20. software that I had access to.  It turns out that the author did not
  21. read the "real" soundex specifications before he wrote the subroutine
  22. so it produces incorrect codes in some cases.  I used to have a copy
  23. of the original Rand Corp. report that specifies soundex but can't
  24. find it at the moment.  If someone can point me to a correct
  25. definition of soundex coding, I would appreciate it.  Otherwise its a
  26. trip down to the UT library and a few hours digging through
  27. catalogues.
