  17. I.  I'm looking for descendants of Capt. Thomas A. Akin and his nephew
  18. Samuel J. Akin who lived in Atchison Co., MO, and Boulder Co., CO,
  19. between 1845 and 1885.  Capt. Thomas A. Akin, born in MD, married
  20. Margaret S. Ross.  Samuel J. Akin b. 1835, in Bloomington, Ogle Co.,
  21. IL, married Mary Ann Burns who was born in Muscatine, IA in 1836.

  23. Mary Ann Burns' parents were Christopher Burns and Rachel ?Pierce?,
  24. from PA, who were in Wayne Co., OH in 1830, and in Logan Co., OH in
  25. 1835.  Mary Ann Burns had five brothers: John, ?James?, Adam, Silas,
  26. and Simon Pierce.  Simon Pierce Burns served in the Texas State
  27. Legislature in the late 1800's.

  29. After the death of Christopher Burns, his widow Rachel married James
  30. Amen from VA and the family was in Holt Co., MO in 1850.  Rachel
  31. Burns Amen was with her daughter Mary Ann Burns Akin in Boulder Co.,
  32. CO, from 1865-1885.  Samuel and Mary Ann Akin went to OR before 1890.
