The Sutro Library is located right next to the campus of San Francisco State University. It is an official library of the State of California and specializes in genealogy. One could rightly refer to it as California's genealogical library. I dont know exactly the size of its holdings but they are significant.

  13. In the San Francisco Bay area it ranks right up there with the branch of the National Archives as -the- place to go for genealogy research.
  14. I live but 3 blocks away but because of budget cuts its never open when Im not at work. Like living right next to the cady store and being one penny less each allowance day!
