- I have an ancestor, James COLLINS, who was supposedly a university student
- (at Oxford as I recall) in the early 1700's, when he was shanghaied to sea,
- the result of which he jumped ship in America (Annapolis or Baltimore).
- This has something of the ring of a family legend, but there is evidence
- that he taught school, so it has some plausibility. The question is, is there
- some way to search a list of students at a university from those days?
- Perhaps some kind reader in England could help.
