-
- Yes, I know that his point was not to argue about sanctioning acts
- but to make clear that beliefs cannot be criminalized. However, what
- are beliefs in action? I felt that the part I quoted left a large
- latitude in its interpretation. I wasn't really arguing with the
- thought so much as the presentation.

-
- If I spend all my time espousing my *beliefs* against a certain
- category of citizen (ala Tom Metzger of neo-Nazi fame) and someone
- else acts on the *suggestion* of violence which I espouse, can
- I be held responsible? If I tell someone my belief that someone should
- die and that person goes out and kills that person, am I responsible?
-
- These are the types of ``acts of speech'' that I feel can be legislated.
-
- You disagree?
-
- Thank you for the book suggestion - I'll run down to Powell's the
- day after Thanksgiving and pick it up.
