- That was about the third or fourth day running where I'd been aware
- that Rod couldn't possibly keep up with the volume. It's not
- _always_ like that, but it's become more like that recently.

- Last spring I saw an article on their editorial policies, maybe in
- the Sunday Magazine. I remember that they talked about instituting
- stylistic changes, including using "Ms." in mentioning women and also
- not insisting on an honorific for a woman when they wouldn't for a
- man. I seem to recall that the article mentioned that the editor
- had dismissed requests for these changes as unimportant, and that he
- was startled at how appreciative staff and readers were when they
- went into effect. I'm not sure whether there is any reason to
- associate the (more recent) expanded coverage of glb* topics with
- these stylistic changes, but I do. Maybe that's just because
- they're both things I'm glad to see.
