  31. You've totally mischaracterized what Gary Strand actually wrote, which
  32. is actually fairly typical of totalitarian tinkerbell thinking. What he
  33. claimed was that neither individuals nor the government have the right
  34. to forcibly prevent other people from discriminating. This no more makes
  35. one a bigot than does supporting the right of Nazis to march in Skokie
  36. make one a Nazi or does upholding the right of fundamentalist Christian
  37. churches to preach that homosexuality is a sin make one a fundy.

  39. This so-called "half-baked libertarian rhetoric" about the basic right
  40. to be left alone protects not only the bigot but gays as well from
  41. the oppressive and overbearing power of majoritarian government that
  42. would overreach its domain and extend itself into everyone's private
  43. life.
