- Because THE sport of choice for queer gearheads who like to
- be butch is climbing, that's why. (I'm not kidding about the
- gear, either; when I was at the Stonewall Climbers convention
- that was recently held in Seneca Rocks, W. Va., I noticed that
- *everyone* in our group was driving either a truck, a van, or
- a wagon. You need something big in order to haul around all
- the crap that you end up buying if you stick with climbing.)
