- How many of you attend schools that have (or claim to have)
- need-blind admissions? I ask this because I just applied to a school (The
- University of New Hampshire) that claims to, but has a rather interesting
- way of handling it. I was told that I could be admitted, but only as a
- "special student". I would be allowed to take a full course load and could
- go on the waiting list for on-campus housing. The only real difference
- between myself and any other undergrad would be that I would be ineleligible
- for financial aid. In effect, I would be admitted as long as I had the
- financial resources to pay for my education. This might not have bothered
- me so much if they didn't claim that financial need did not affect
- admission. Has anyone else run into this? Any comments?
