  16.         I just heard about this over the weekend & I thought that some of you
  17. may be interested in it.  The Sylvan Learning center worked out an agreement
  18. with the GRE testing people and this is what resulted :

  20.                 1)  Starting 10/12/92 you could schedule and take the GRE 
  21.                     exam any day and time on a computer at Sylvan. - as
  22.                     opposed to 4 predetermind times per year thru GRE.
  23.  
  24.                 2)  Your exam is scored immediately and you receive your
  25.                     scores upon completion of the test.
  26.  
  27.                 3)  They guarantee that your choice colleges will receive
  28.                     your scores within 15 days of your test date - as 
  29.                     opposed to 6 weeks through GRE.
  30.  
  31.                 4)  *AND* after you complete your test, before you are 
  32.                     shown your scores, you have the OPTION of cancelling 
  33.                     the test and you will not see the scores, but neither 
  34.                     will the colleges that you are applying to.  This is 
  35.                     very nice in that if you don't think that you did well,
  36.                     that particular test will not be average with your new
  37.                     scores when you take it again.

  39.         Also, the price is very reasonable.  They charge the normal $45 to
  40. give to the GRE people and another $40 or so for Sylvan.

  42.         This is only offered at a few Sylvan centers - contact Patty at
  43. the Edgewood center (247-4463) for information (tell her that you read
  44. about it on the InterNet) and she will let you know the center that is 
  45. nearest you.
