- I'm curious why it is every pro-frat argument trots out the same tired old
- storyline ("you're just not in a frat", "we do a lot of philanthropy",
- "we've been around since 1776", "everybody joins a frat", "we never haze",
- "anybody who doesn't like frats watches too much Animal House") often
- with the exact same wording. It's just plain eerie. I've seen almost
- this exact same post in campus newspapers on two different coasts, and
- this is the third or fourth time I've seen it on the net. Is it part
- of the standard brainwas^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hpledging process?
-
- It's a remarkable effort at misdirection and mischaracterization. Yeah,
- fraternities do a lot of good. But they also do a lot of bad. And the
- bad they do can be easily alleviated by going co-ed and eliminating the
- pledging process without at all interfering with the good that fraternities
- do.
