- There is a misperception, I think, that antidiscrimination
- laws are intended to dispel bigotry, or that they have
- something to do with government-mandated compassion.
- That's an obvious fallacy. Anti-discrimination laws are a
- response to the sad truth that bigotry is here and that its
- victims deserve some legal protection.

- love, nor are they even going to create universal acceptance
- of diversity. These laws exist in order to limit the
- considerable damage that bigotry does.
