- The "motss" in soc.motss stands for "Members Os The Same Sex". This name
- was chosen to be deliberately obscure so as to heighten its chances of
- being carried by sites. One could say that it was a euphemism for
- "soc.gay" or "soc.lesgay". Motss does not stand for "generic
- non-straight". It is primiarly a lesbian&gay space, though there are a
- number of people of other sexual orientations (e.g., bi & stright folk)
- who hang out there and are considered part of the family.
