- You aren't SURPRISED, are you? Lowery has always been extremely willing
- to spend OTHER people's money. You can also bet that he will do his
- best to torpedo the halfway decent gun laws in this state, too. Not
- because of any problem, just because HE doesn't like guns in the hands
- of commoners. He even opposed allowing the issue to go on the floor of
- congress for fair debate on merits or lack of merits when he was in the
- US Congress (the McLure-Volkmer Bill). His reason was "I know what is
- best for the people better than they do" when I wrote asking him to not
- necessarily support the bill, just support bringing it out of committed
- to permit debate. I wish I had saved that letter, it was one of the
- most arrogant replies I have ever received from a congresscritter.

- Sure he will. AFTER he gets in all the social programs he wants... It
- sure would be nice to get some letters sent to this fellow telling him
- we want him to get the spending down and deficit cut FIRST, then PERHAPS
- we can talk about a SMALL revenue enhancement. In other words, prove
- that added revenue won't be pissed down a rat-hole first.

-
- Why doesn't he want the people to know what he plans? Couldn't be because
- he doesn't want a recall petition this early? :-)
-
- >or add taxes to services like financial planners, bond and money market

-
- What has happened to all the revenue from the lottery, existing gas
- taxes which have been increased several times allready, motor registration
- fees, sales taxes, use taxes, B&O taxes, tax taxes, and the like? Didn't
- he campaign on reducing the deficit, and to consider 'revenue enhancements'
- as a LAST resort? Here he is considering them as a FIRST choice...
- Like Clinton campaigning on reducing the fed deficit, and now he is saying
- he may have to INCREASE it (to impliment his social programs...). Don't
- say we didn't warn you about Slick Willie, or folks like him!!! Many
- of us predicted he would do NOTHING to reduce the deficit.
-
- >As a means of cutting costs he expects to reduce the number of employees of
- >the state by 1000-1500.
-
- Excepting his buddies, and faithful party members, of course....
-
- >KING county residents are now paying an additional $12.00 per year on their
- >residence and employeers $12.00 per employee to cover the costs of bridge
- >and road repair. Lowery is not even in office yet and look what the liberal
- >demos are getting away with. It is a good thing the demos have a mandate.
-
- If he has his way, he will raise sales tax, add an income tax, raise
- gas tax, and a few others I didn't think of, and then wonder why the
- state sinks into recession as businesses fold or move out of state (which
- will result in a need for further tax increases to support the added
- social programs needed, as well as 'maintain services').
-
- I was really amazed how he was able to BS the state into thinking he has
- changed from the way he was when he ran for the Senate. The only difference
- is he removed that Yassir Arafat beard... Otherwise he is the same Lowery
- as he was 5 - 10 years ago. Us Washingtonians have been HAD. And WE
- will pay, not Mr LOWery.
