  22. You aren't SURPRISED, are you?  Lowery has always been extremely willing
  23. to spend OTHER people's money.   You can also bet that he will do his
  24. best to torpedo the halfway decent gun laws in this state, too.  Not
  25. because of any problem, just because HE doesn't like guns in the hands
  26. of commoners.  He even opposed allowing the issue to go on the floor of
  27. congress for fair debate on merits or lack of merits when he was in the
  28. US Congress (the McLure-Volkmer Bill).  His reason was "I know what is
  29. best for the people better than they do" when I wrote asking him to not
  30. necessarily support the bill, just support bringing it out of committed
  31. to permit debate.  I wish I had saved that letter, it was one of the
  32. most arrogant replies I have ever received from a congresscritter.

  36. Sure he will.  AFTER he gets in all the social programs he wants...  It
  37. sure would be nice to get some letters sent to this fellow telling him
  38. we want him to get the spending down and deficit cut FIRST, then PERHAPS
  39. we can talk about a SMALL revenue enhancement.  In other words, prove
  40. that added revenue won't be pissed down a rat-hole first.

  53. What has happened to all the revenue from the lottery, existing gas
  54. taxes which have been increased several times allready, motor registration
  55. fees, sales taxes, use taxes, B&O taxes, tax taxes, and the like?  Didn't
  56. he campaign on reducing the deficit, and to consider 'revenue enhancements'
  57. as a LAST resort?  Here he is considering them as a FIRST choice...
  58. Like Clinton campaigning on reducing the fed deficit, and now he is saying
  59. he may have to INCREASE it (to impliment his social programs...).  Don't
  60. say we didn't warn you about Slick Willie, or folks like him!!!  Many
  61. of us predicted he would do NOTHING to reduce the deficit.

  73. If he has his way, he will raise sales tax, add an income tax, raise
  74. gas tax, and a few others I didn't think of, and then wonder why the
  75. state sinks into recession as businesses fold or move out of state (which
  76. will result in a need for further tax increases to support the added
  77. social programs needed, as well as 'maintain services').

  79. I was really amazed how he was able to BS the state into thinking he has
  80. changed from the way he was when he ran for the Senate.  The only difference
  81. is he removed that Yassir Arafat beard...  Otherwise he is the same Lowery
  82. as he was 5 - 10 years ago.  Us Washingtonians have been HAD.  And WE
  83. will pay, not Mr LOWery.
