- Well, in this morning's issue of the liberal PI he quite clearly states
- that he must raise taxes to balance the budget. As a consolation he has
- pledged to reduce spending as well. He plans to increase gas taxes. He
- states that a 20 cent increase per gal would not be exceptable but he will
- ask for a number as high as he can. He is also making a pitch to increase
- the sales tax. By how much he won't yet reveal. He also wants to increase
- or add taxes to services like financial planners, bond and money market
- accounts to name a few. One of the items he wants to pay for from
- increased taxes is alternate transportation serivices.
-
- As a means of cutting costs he expects to reduce the number of employees of
- the state by 1000-1500.
-
- KING county residents are now paying an additional $12.00 per year on their
- residence and employeers $12.00 per employee to cover the costs of bridge
- and road repair. Lowery is not even in office yet and look what the liberal
- demos are getting away with. It is a good thing the demos have a mandate.

- Statement made by Oliver North when asked to comment on Clinton's draft

- she has been to North Vietnam."
