- Yesterday I went to the Science Museum (Boston) to take in the Star
- Trek exhibit. On the way into the exhibit I looked through a rotating
- disk at an exhibit by Polaroid, a kind of huge kaleidoscope. At the
- Star Trek exhibit I looked at the various whirling, swirling, and
- light flashing exhibits. I got very nauseous. I had to leave, and I
- had the dry heaves. I spent the rest of the day in a dark quiet room
- waiting for the nausea to abate.
-
- What can I do about this in the future? Obviously, I can avoid
- staring at spinning objects, but is there any kind of medication I can
- take before going into nauseating circumstances? I know that people
- use scopolomine before water trips? Would it be useful in my case?
- And what about when I am nauseous from looking at spinning? What can
- I take for that after the fact?
-
- I'm prone to motion sickness, but I thought that had to do with the
- inner ear. Is this visually caused nausea related/the same?
-
- Thanks,
-
