- According to a medline absract I was sent, GHB is metabolized to GABA.
- The effects of the substance, as little as half a teaspoon, are quite
- pronounced and pleasant. Mood is elevated, you become more loquacious
- and there is a definite feeling of intoxication that is enjoyable. I
- think it could possibly be habit forming. It would be an excellent
- replacement I think for alcohol if it were safe. I have had problems
- in the past with alcohol abuse and much prefer GHB. I wouldn't want
- to drive on it though, it definitely impairs balance and coordination,
- but it doesn't seem to give the bravado and aggresiveness that alcohol
- does so I doubt I would want to at the time.
-
- Another thing; I experimented with it daily for about a week. At the
- start of the period I was very depressed due to a broken love affair.
- The depression had been with me for a couple of months. During periods
- of mild GHB intoxication, the depression was lifted and interestingly
- by the end of the week when the bit I had obtained was gone, so was the
- depression. That was quite a while ago and it was gone permanently.
- This could be pure coincidence but I don't think so. I wish someone
- would do some research on this aspect. Something fast acting that
- could lift exogenous depression would be a real boon if safe.
