  12.  Its always seemed odd to me that people apply a strange kind of
  13. social relativity in judging rituals and customs.
  14. If WE are not doing it than it may be both mutilation and appalling,
  15. but if WE do it even if its feeding infants to volanoes,its just OK!

  17. The average cost of the millions of infant circs done each year is
  18. not an insignificant amount when one considers what else it might
  19. have purchased such as child immunizations and nutritional programs
  20. and pre-natal care for children.

  22. The ear piercing ritual which I would not wish my daughter to do,
  23. is at least done with HER consent. An infant male hardly has that
  24. choice strapped down to a circumstraint. The procedure is ugly,
  25. unneeded and disgusting! I bet few parents know what actually goes
  26. on in the CIRC room!
