- I have a few questions about dorsal-column stimulators.
-
- 1.) Once the device is totally implanted, how is it "programmed"?
- 2.) Assuming that is IS "programmable" or adjustable, who does this?
- Does the patient carry the external programmer/controller, or is
- this something that only the doctor performs?
- 3.) Batteries - what type and how long do they last?
- 4.) Are there known and accurate statistics concerning "drop-off rates"
- of effectiveness in pain relief?
- 5.) What is the approximate typical cost (of just the hardware).
- 6.) What is the approximate typical cost of the surgery.
- 7.) Is the implant usually an outpatient or inpatient surgical
- procedure, and if inpatient, what's a typical length of hospital
- stay?
-
- Any information is appreciated.
