  14. Coincidentally, I read Wendy's posting just after reading Siegfried Kra's
  15. _The Three-Legged Stallion_.  Which is a collection of rather interesting
  16. medical stories.  One of them involves a fastidious woman who suddenly
  17. developed the smell of dead fish.  It turned out that she had a metabolic
  18. disorder which resulted in trimethylamine being excreted in her urine,
  19. producing the odor.  She was treated with metronidazole hydrochloride to
  20. break down the TMA and put on a low choline diet (no soybeans, peas, eggs,
  21. fish, liver, kidney) which got rid of the odor.
