- I get this in both knees from playing tennis,
- perhaps because I'm so bow-legged and have
- ultra-tight hamstrings.
-
- I found I could play completely free of kneecap pain
- by wearing a little strap below each kneecap
- (I ordered them for about $7 each from a newspaper ad;
- a more expensive version is called the "Cho-Pat Strap."
- After a while the irritation disappeared and I could
- play without them, though the pain comes back
- (and the straps back on) whenever I increase
- my level of activity too suddenly.
-
- A friend developed the same problem,
- and also got instant relief (and eventual healing)
- when he borrowed one of my straps.
