  13. I am trying to assemble a group of people who are interested in getting
  14. the Public Use Microdata Sample of the Census of Population and Housing
  15. as soon as it becomes available.  Those of us at research institutions
  16. can generally get this for only the cost of the media through ICPSR, but
  17. only after what can be a long delay.

  19. The census bureau will sell the 5% Sample for US $4,000.  I would like to
  20. find 9 people who will chip in $400 each plus the cost of the physical
  21. media.  I will then copy the data to either high density mag. tape or
  22. DAT, according to your preference.

  24. This offer is, of course, contingent on finding the requisite number of
  25. people.
