- In 1965 while on a visit to relatives in Lincoln, NE I was talking to my cousin
- about something I remember NOT what. To make my point, I used a simple
- algebraic expression, again I do not recall what! WHAT I do recall is
- another cousin's high school daughter almost shouting, "You mean there is
- a R*E*A*L USE for algebra!?

- As in almost all education problems, I find the parents MOST responsible,
- totally or partly lacking in understanding what their children are or are
- not learning, attending PTA, taking an interest in what-who & how their
- children are being taught and voting wisely. The state, ND, with the
- lowest average teacher's salary has the highest percentage of high school
- graduates and then going on to college.
