- MS> I was wondering how many people would be willing to buy an electic
- MS>car if it were powered by a nuclear reactor. (The reactor would connected
- MS>up in such a way that its contents wouldn't come out in the event of a
- MS>crash.)
-
- In today's climate? Not many!
-
- This idea was first proposed to the public in the GE exhibit at the 1939
- Worlds Fair in New York along with the idea that in the future every
- house would have a nuclear generator in the basement. Nothing has
- been done with the idea since.
-
- Policing the use and distribution of these generators would be a
- nightmare. What's to prevent a kid from sawing one open in a jr. high
- shop class?
