- Hello!
- I have been following the thread on FM-10. I have an interesting application
- for this. It is like this:
- Set up a FM-10 trans. to transmit binary data. Somewhere there is a
- FM receiver which receives the data and put it on the serial port of
- IBM-PC. A program running on PC will read the port and will display
- the message on screen.
- This requires a FM receiver capable of putting the received data on the
- serial port of a PC. I wonder if someone has such a beast or if anyone
- has any idea to build this. One good application of this will be to set
- up a network of few homes in the neighbourhood and connect each home's
- bulger alarm to FM-10 with a unique code and designate one or two homes
- with PC as monitors. When a burglar alarm is triped, one will get the
- code on the PC and call to check out the validity of alarm and the call
- police. There are security companies who already do this, but their charges
- are high.
