- The interlaced displays in NTSC (and for that matter PAL and SECAM) don't
- appear to flicker badly because the adjacent lines in the display are very
- similar. The flicker problem in computer displays is largely due to very
- different adjacent lines, and short persistance phosphors (sp?). When I put
- an interlaced display on my monochrome monitors the do not visibly flicker
- because the phosphor has a very long persistance.
