- "Beyond 2000" is actually an Australian program, although sometimes we cringe
- to have to admit it. One of the big problems with the program is when thay say a
- product is available over-the-counter (so to speak), they often mean only
- within the country where that story originated.
-
- Another main problem is that they've become, over the years, more of an
- advertising bureau for commercial products, and less of what they started as - a
- program to introduce the state-of-the-art to the layman.
-
- Finally, they seem to occasionally produce stories without a lot of technical
- or scientific back-up. It sounds as if your device might fall into this category
- - where a manufacturer makes "claims" which are dutifully reported by the
- program, yet a marked absence of documented research is observed.
