  35.      Thank you for pointing out this possible bug in our 
  36. experiment to improve the political process in the US.

  38.      The write-in, on the surface, might seem more appropriate 
  39. for more local an election. But Usenet News and internetworking 
  40. may make the write-in a viable and especially democratic 
  41. political form even for national elections. Therefore it is 
  42. necessary that we get the bugs out of the process.

  44.      Can anyone out there suggest a fix that will allow the 
  45. genuine write-in candidate to be identified either on the write- 
  46. in ballot or after the election or both?

  48.      The American people have given the world the personal computer and
  49. Usenet News. We surely are capable of creating a better political
  50. process than the one we have just gone through.
