  12.     I have managed to get hold of information on the main DES encryption /
  13. decryption algorithm, but miss a few pieces of information. I am reading Security
  14. in Computing by Charles P. Pfleeger. The book explains how the S-boxes and P
  15. box works, but doesn't give any information beyond the existance of the initial
  16. permutation and the inverse initial permutation.

  18.     I would like someone to explain how the initial permutation and
  19. reverse initial permutation works, in sufficient detail so that I can write my
  20. own DES code.
