- I've heard that hydrogen peroxide is not all that good at DISINFECTING a
- wound, but that it is good for CLEANING it. This is the logic:
- Dirt (and whatever else is in the wound - blood???) catalyzes the reaction:
- 2 H2O2 --> 2 H2O + H2 (gas).
- The hydrogen gas product then carries the dirt, etc. to the surface
- of the wound where it is then washed away.
