- A friend of mine, in an attempt to make bubble bath, did the following:
-
- Bought some environmentally nice laundry soap powder
- Mixed up some alcohol and glycerine
- Dumped some powder into the mixture
- Added hot water
-
- At this point the whole thing foamed uncontrollably for several
- minutes, and the alcohol and glycerine reportedly seemed to separate
- out leaving some very hard, glassy, long, sharp crystals (+ water?) in
- the bottom. The crystals dissolve fairly quickly in water. Anybody
- got any idea what went on here, and what the crystals might be? I've
- got no idea what the laundry soap was, and she did say soap, not
- detergent (she probably wouldn't try to make bubble bath out of
- detergent).
-
- Thanks for any clues.
