- The commercial "Cyalume" sticks use a peroxide reaction, but as far as I
- can tell, the details are only written up in their patent.

-
- These reactions are all outlined in the literature in detail. I do not
- have the literature list (a friend 'lost' it for me) but you should
- be able to dig around in your library's database and find what you need.
- These are "chemiluminescent" reactions.

-
- Yes! Luminol is available from Aldrich and Aldrich-like companies. There
- are other compounds you can get which will do the same thing in different
- colors.
-
- >Would it be cost effective?
-
- You mean as opposed to buying a bunch of Cyalume sticks? Probably not
- the Luminol reaction (priced it out at one time) but if you investigate
- making your own compounds, I think you'll find it is indeed possible.

- Shoot, I wish I could remember the name of that book, "Chemiluminscent
- reactions" or some such. If you can't find any thing, let me know,
- I can do a quick search here for title and publisher.
