- CH2Cl2 is known as methylene chloride or dichloromethane. It was at one
- time used in paint thinners (although I'm not sure to what extent now).
- I can't say that I have seen it sold alone in a hardware store though,
- you may wish to look at the ingredients of some of the paint thinners.
