  34.   Thomas Barnes is a young earth creationist.  He claims to have proved that
  35. evolution could not have happened because the earth is only about 6000 years
  36. old.  He has created (pun intended) a "model" of the earth's magnetic field
  37. that exhibits an exponential decay (ignoring overwhelming evidence to the
  38. contrary).  Based on this "model" he extrapolates back 6000 years BP to get
  39. an "impossibly high" value for the earth's magnetic field and (illogically)
  40. concludes that the earth must have been "created" then.  Outside of several
  41. credulous creationist followers, Barnes has ZERO credibility (at least in
  42. earth history and the earth's magnetic field).
