- RADIOCARBON DATING RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP

- The University seeks applications for a Scholarship of $NZ6,000 (non-
- taxable) tenable in the Radiocarbon Dating Laboratory of the Geochronology
- Research Unit. The appointee shall work towards a D.Phil degree on any
- topic which makes significant use of carbon dating techniques. Subject to
- satisfactory progress, the Scholarship will be available for up to three
- years.

- The applicants should be eligible for a D.Phil degree, by holding a good
- Honours or Masters degree. No specific experience of carbon dating is required,
- as full training will be given. The candidate's background should be in
- science or archaeology, and experience in practical science would be advantage.

- In addition to the Scholarship, the applicant will work as a technical
- assistant for 10 hours a week in the Laboratory. This position is
- available for 3 years subject to progress. The part-time technicians
- position will carry a minimum salary of $NZ6,193.00 per annum, based on
- Grade 1, step 5 of the Technicians' scale.
