- The Summer 1990 issue of SeaScope (a 4-page newsletter that you can get
- for free in some fish stores) lists the results of an analysis by an
- "independent laboratory experienced with salt water testing." The
- levels of phosphorus found in water mixed from various brands of salt
- mix was as follows:

- Instant Ocean 0.19 mg/L
- Forty Fathoms 0.35 mg/L
- Marine Environment 0.71 mg/L
- Tropic Marin 0.23 mg/L

- Natural Sea Water 0.07 mg/L

- Caveats:

- 1. They broke the analysis down by element (phosphorus) rather than
- ion (phosphates). Still, the relative values should be
- indicative of relative phosphate levels.
