- I am in the homestretch of refinishing my living room
- and face the task of re-installing the molding around the
- windows, doorways, floorboards, and ceiling perimeter.
- I saved the old molding of which 75% is re-usable.
- The remaining 25% is mostly damaged window molding
- which has splintered heavily from careless mounting of
- curtain rods over the years. I thought about making these
- but soon realized (became frustrated with) the limits of
- my router skills.
-
- I need advice on Boston area (eastern MA, southern NH)
- shops that could reproduce such moldings or if anyone
- knows of a "home demolition salvage yard" where I might
- find rescued moldings.
-
- I realize having moldings reproduced would be expensive.
- If anyone has succesfully reproduced their own and
- could tell me how they did it then maybe I could give
- it another try.
-
- Replies to castro@ileaf.com and I'll send summaries to
- anyone who requests one.
-
- And I thought this would be the easy part...
