  12. Well, I called Windsurfing Hawaii and asked why the 
  13. offset is present on the star foot.  As several 
  14. people here on the net suggested, the reason is
  15. that it saves them from having to "stack bolts"
  16. at the foot center.  This produces a lower
  17. profile design, they said, although it  
  18. seems to me  that it also allows it to be manufactured
  19. more cheaply.  The offset, according to them,
  20. produces neglible effects when compared with
  21. the other forces involved.
