- Remember, too, that these are average grades over the length of the trail.
- Maximum grades may differ. The upper sections of most of the front four
- trails at Stowe are closer to 42%, if memory serves. The attraction of
- Goat is its narrowness compounded by a double fall line and gnarly rocks.
- For all out steepness, the tops of National and Starr are more forbidding.
- Especially when you throw in a couple of bumps and National's ever present
- polar ice cap.
