- Just several days ago, someone mentioned that the PADI "safety stops" could be
- viewed as mandatory "decompression" stops (gee, wouldnt that throw PADI into
- a tizzy)....
-
- Lo and behold, I just got one of my PADI specialty C-cards in the mail, and
- being the dutiful member :-) I thoroughly read the accompanying letter.
- I found...
-
- "Be a S.A.F.E. Diver......... ALWAYS perform a three-minute safety stop at
- 15 feet, particularly after deep or repetitive dives." (my emphasis)
-
- While not trying to be a huge PADI-basher, I just thought I'd throw this
- supporting quote out for fun.
-
- Personally I think PADI as an organization has its belt on too tight
- (figuratively speaking) with respect to diving outside the realm of PADI
- "recommended" diving, and just wish they would loosen it up one or
- two notches. Then again maybe every morning when PADI gets out of bed
- and gets dressed, PADI's lawyer puts on its' clothes. :-) I just find
- the attitude somewhat oppressive.
