In our last committee meeting, the subject of fund-raisers came up. For the
past few years we've been selling candy bars and earning around $1000 profit
for a weekends worth of work. Other troups in our town do things like Christ-
mas trees and wreaths. They earn more money, but it takes longer. It seems
that the $1000 per week figure is fairly constant no matter what is being sold.
Now to the point: we're getting bored with selling candy bars. Every Cub
Scout, athletic, and school organization seems to sell candy bars. We don't
necessarily need to make more money (although I'm sure we can figure out a way
to spend it :-) but we would like something different, something that our area
may not have seen before. If your unit has an interesting fund-raiser, could you please e-mail the idea to me? If I get enough, I'll compile a list and postto this group.
