  23. You are saying that that you don't want gay scouts and scoutleaders
  24. participating with your children.  That's more than disagreeing.
  25. I disagree with Christians but I don't believe that they should
  26. be thrown out of scouting.

  28. I don't buy the arguments that the exclusion of gays or atheists
  29. from scouting is based on Biblical values.

  31. 1.  There are other Biblical values which you are not so vehement
  32.     about making the basis for exclusion. As you know, the Bible 
  33.     teaches that it is wrong to eat shrimp, and yet I see no campaign
  34.     to kick shrimp-eaters out of scouts.

  36. 2.  Your Christian Bible teaches that everyone is a sinner and
  37.     you should take the plank out of your eye before taking
  38.     the speck out of your neighbor's.  Even if you think
  39.     gays are "sinners" you should recall that Jesus defended his
  40.     socializing and breaking bread with sinners.  Why
  41.     are you making an exception for gays?

  43. My opinion is that gays are being excluded because there is
  44. a popular prejudice, rooted in fear, against gays.  The
  45. Biblical and other "moralistic" arguments are rationalizations
  46. for the prejudice.
