- Thanks for the explanation of the C.O.P.E. cryptonym, Mike.
- I was tempted to add the thread to my kill file, but now I know
- that it was a good idea to keep the thread.
-
- We have something similar in Switzerland. The Government supports
- us through their J+S (Youth and Sport) department. The goal of
- J+S is to help youth sports organizations with subsidies, trainer
- courses and camps and short-time equipment loans.
-
- Two of the J+S programs are made specifically for scouting units.
- One is called "Camp Sports" (LS), and is directed mainly at cub scout
- leaders and sports camp staff members, the other is called
- "Wandern & Gelaendesport" (W+G) (sorry, you'll have to translate that
- one by yourself), and is directed at scout summer camp staff members
- and scout troop leaders.
-
- W+G is very similar to C.O.P.E. as defined by Mike. I would be very
- interested in more information about the actual activities and posts
- prescribed or recommended by C.O.P.E. Could the original poster
- send or post some more info?
