- For Asics (and I assume for Nike as well) the company line is that
- their high-tech shoes require the personal services of a knowledgable
- salesperson to make sure you get the exact right shoe for you.

- prices charged to retails outlets compared to the mail-order companies, who
- order shoes in quantities of tens of thousands.
